Flame- 4 VOX Quad Polyphonic Wavetable VCO/X-4 Quad Envelope VCA/Knight's Gallop-Shakmat Modular demo

Flame -4 VOX Quad Polyphonic Wavetable VCO/X-4 Quad Envelope VCA/Knight's Gallop-Shakmat Modular demo.

In this patch I wanted to show mainly 4 VOX Quad Polyphonic Wavetable VCO and X-4 Quad Envelope VCA from Flame Instruments. I used only one VCO from 4VOX and two channels with X-4. To this I added pulses from Knight's Gallop from Shakmat Modular to triggers in X-4. small change of wavetbles and addition of slightly portamento. the melody is used with LFO as the Arpregio method with clock and quantitative LFO to Pitch in 4 VOX. More about modules: FLAME "4VOX" Quad wavetable oscillator - Quad LFO - MIDI wavetable expander The 4VOX is a quad wavetable oscillator with up to four voices per VCO channel, resulting in a maximum of 16 voices at four individual outputs. Due to a MIDI input the module can be played both with CVs or/and directly via MIDI - MIDI allows for modulating some additional parameters. There are 39 memory locations for wavetables and 32 patches for all global and VCO parameters. The parameters of a wavetable can be controlled by CVs and by MIDI. For instance you can morph through a wavetable with a CV, a MIDI controller or manually with the potentiometer. The range of waves within a wavetable can be selected by minimum and maximum values individually per voice which allows for creating more complex morphs. Further controllable parameters are Detune, Semitone, Octave, Chord, Portamento, Amplitude and Amp Move (90 degrees phase shifted volume modulation of a VCO's 4 voices). Min and max values can be selected for those parameters as well. Via MIDI it's possible to control further parameters (notes, chords, pitch bend, patch selection and wavetable selection) The VCOs can be played analog (frequency by Pitch CV input), monophonic via MIDI or 4-voice polyphonic via MIDI. The VCO can be used as a voltage controllable LFO with 3 modes: LOOP, ONE SHOT and GATED. The SYNC input is used to trigger/reset the LFO. In ONE SHOT mode the LFO can be used as a trigger delay, too (SYNC = trigger in, GATE = trigger output, PITCH = delay time). Each VCO has an analog 1V/octave input including a fine tune control (+/-1 semitone) and pitch control (approx. 10 octaves), two freely assignable CV inputs, two freely assignable potentiometers, a trigger input for Sync/LFO-reset as well as a Gate and VCO/LFO output All global parameters and also the VCO's setings can be named and saved as a non-volatile patch by the user (32 patch memory locations are available). The display can show a graphic of the selected waveforms. Software/wavetable updates are easy possible via MIDI sysex dump. The FLAME "X-4" is a compact multifunctional 4x Envelope / VCA module. Thus in a very small space (10TE) 4 AR envelopes and 4 separate VCAs are combined. The module complements Quad VCOs (eg FLAME "4VOX") and adds 4 VCAs and envelopes in a small space. Each channel can be used separately as an AR envelope generator with VCA, or even as a VCA. There is a three-level switch for three different Envelope rates from extremely short to long available. With the sliders, the envelope shape is set morphing (also adjustable by CV). In addition, the envelope can be looped (gated AD envelope loop). There are three modes: AR four CV controllable separate attack / release envelopes on 4 VCA channels (per gate) AD four CV controllable separate attack / decay envelopes on 4 VCA channels (oneshot per trigger) VCA four CV-controllable separate VCAs Knigh's Gallop-Shakmat Math & Rhythm Two outputs and five different rhythmic flavors multiply by a load of “algo-rhythmic” processing to result in a practically infinite number of polyrhythms. That’s the fundamental formula that produces the Knight's Gallop principle : a dual trigger generator providing sequences according to tables and modes. The source tables contain patterns such as the Euclidean polyrhythms, and the modes allow the user manipulate and mangle those patterns according to different algorithms. As the module has two outputs, it is a very powerful instrument to create diversified and instantaneous polyrhythms. Dual Output Trigger Generator • Variable length sequences (up to 16 steps) • Length and Pulse amount potentiometers and CV inputs • Shift + & shift - buttons allowing to shift the sequence forward and backward • Main mode (MN) providing a lot of utlity modes for the second output : reset, no shift, invert and reverse • Compute mode (CP) calculating associated sequences for the second output delivering very musical polyrythm • Random mode (RD) adding randomness on the second output sequence, 4 amounts of randomness determined by the sub mode • Dual mode (DL) allowing to set the two outputs seperatly • Record mode (RC) turning the Knight's Gallop into a “play your sequence on the buttons to record it” module • Five different kind of tables for five different rythmic flavours : Divider Sequences, Classic Euclidean, Revised Euclidean, Anti Euclidean & Split Sequences
