Serpens Modular announces the Sirius-Analog Distortion Filter
Currently in production and scheduled for release in March 2019.
The Sirius distortion filter uses analogous analog architecture to the classic 80s synthesizers, such as Korg PolySix, Mono / Poly and PPG Wave 2.0. They then refined the project to integrate the germanium diode distortion phase to give the traditional smooth bite a real bite, and to broaden the resonance range to go self-oscillation. This can transform Sirius into a vibrating oscillator of sinusoidal waves that can track the pitch of 1v / ohm through the CV inputs. The Bias knob allows users to not only set the height tracking, but also tune the filter's resonance, which means that resonant pings can be easily tuned to the key of the song. There are also two outputs - "dirty" that goes through the distortion phase, but also "clean", which bypasses the distortion if you're looking for a more traditional filtered sound or you want to attach the filter back together to get interesting results.
