CMS jest autorytetem w syntezatorach ARP. Są czołowym amerykańskim centrum serwisowym, restauratorami i aktualizatorami klasycznych syntezatorów ARP. Wcześniej w tym roku wypuścili moduł filtrów wielomodowych 1047E Eurorack oparty na filtrze w ARP 2500. I obiecali zrobić o wiele więcej dzięki temu projektowi CMS Eurorack. A teraz mamy Oscylator 1004T Pearlman tuż za rogiem.
CMS 1004T Pearlman Oscillator / T-Mixer
Dzięki krótkiemu filmowi na YouTube widzimy pierwsze przebiegi fal, prototypowy moduł i dźwięk oscylatora. Jest to dokładna reprodukcja unikalnego i rewolucyjnego obwodu ARP 2500 VCO sterowanego temperaturowo w połączeniu z mikserem falowym "T", zaprojektowanymi przez Alana R. Pearlmana (stąd nazwa). Może generować 5 przebiegów zarówno w formie dodatniej, jak i ujemnej: sinus, trójkąt, kwadrat, piła i puls. Magia wavemixera polega na tym, że można je łączyć ze sobą, tworząc bardzo wyraźne dźwięki. Podana jest także modulacja szerokości impulsu i FM.
Film jest dość prosty, po prostu oscyloskop i trochę niskiej jakości dźwięku, ale daje nam wgląd w to, co nadchodzi, i to całkiem ekscytujące.
Inne moduły to między innymi 1032 Dual Analog Envelope, 1055 VC Balanced Modulator / Mixer / Panner, filtr drabinkowy ARP 24dB 1066, dynamiczny kontroler napięcia 1067 i precyzyjny mikser audio 1070 Low Noise. CMS is an authority on ARP synthesizers. They are the premier US service centre, restorers and upgraders of classic ARP synthesizers. Earlier in the year they released the 1047E multimode filter Eurorack module based upon the filter in the ARP 2500. And they’ve promised to do a lot more than that with their CMS Eurorack project. And now we have the 1004T Pearlman Oscillator just around the corner.
CMS 1004T Pearlman Oscillator / T-Mixer
Through a short video on YouTube we get our first glimpse of the waveforms, the prototype module and the sound of the oscillator. It’s an exact reproduction of the unique and revolutionary temperature controlled ARP 2500 VCO circuit combined with the “T” waveform mixer, both designed by Alan R. Pearlman (hence the name). It can generate 5 waveforms in both positive and negative form: sine, triangle, square, saw and pulse. The magic of the wavemixer is that you can blend them together to produce some very distinct sounds. Pulse width modulation and FM is also included.
The video is pretty simple, just an oscilloscope and some low-quality audio but it gives us a glimpse of what’s coming and that’s pretty exciting.
Other modules to come include the 1032 Dual Analog Envelope, the 1055 VC Balanced Modulator / Mixer / Panner, the 1066 ARP 24dB Ladder Filter, the 1067 Dynamic Voltage Controlled Amplifier and the 1070 Low Noise Precision Audio Mixer. Combined with the 1004T Oscillator and the already released 1047 E Filter and you have the basic ingredients of the massive ARP 2500 synthesizer in Eurorack format.
